An educational professional, Megan Moilanen serves as the principal of ACE Charter High School, which she joined in 2019. In addition, Megan Moilanen participated in the Weekend Warriors program through Building Excellent Schools (BES), which works to improve academic performance in schools across the country and supports BES Fellows in the founding of high-achieving charter schools.

BES released the results of its 2018–19 academic year annual report, noting that 61 percent of BES schools outperformed other schools in their district in math, while 53 percent outperformed other schools in English language arts (ELA).

Out of the 150 BES-Fellow founded schools, 48 have outperformed competitors in either math or ELA for the second year in a row, with this being by a margin of at least 10 percent.

Also, many of these schools have received accolades from third parties. For instance, Compass Rose Academy, Key Collegiate, Resurgence Hall, and Springfield Prep were each awarded Spark Opportunity Grants by the Local Initiatives Support Coalition.
